Carolyn Cosgriff: Design | Illustration | Art | Craft

Hi and welcome. I am a multifaceted, many-hat-wearing creative professional living in Portland,
Oregon. I am a designer, illustrator, artist and craftsperson. Here's a glimpse at what I do:

Keep track of 2010 with this charming desk calendar featuring original watercolors of my collection of Mexican coconut masks. Supplies are limited, so get one while they last. The calendar comes in a handy plastic CD case that converts to a stand. Each calendar image is also available as an individual greeting card. See my Coconut Mask Page for more details!

My design work runs the gamut from web imagery to logos and icons to user guides and packaging. Currently, I am a graphic artist at International Paper. Before that (until the Great Depression of 2009), I was senior designer on an in-house packaging team at Logitech, Inc. I also do freelance projects. Please download these work sample PDFs, including a mini-portfolio, a collection of technical illustration and a sampling of web graphics.

I have a greeting card line called Farm Fresh Art, featuring watercolors of vegetables from the Portland Farmer's Market. The first cards in the series went on sale last summer at Oblation Papers and Press in Portland, Oregon and Impromptu in Houston, Texas.

My most recent series of fine art pieces featured ostriches and peacocks. A previous series was based on a trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. I love depicting the more outrageous side of nature. I also seem to have a preoccupation with lamps. I work in all kinds of media including acrylic, oils, watercolors, charcoal, mixed media and silk screen printmaking.

My crafty wares include hand stitched felt sandwiches, jewelry and frou-frou lavender sachets, which are also on sale at Impromptu in Houston.
Nature, film noir, foreign lands, Samurai Jack...
